Danish Rosewood and Leather Moller Dining Chairs model 62
This pair of Rosewood Armchairs are designed by Niels Moller for J.L. Moller Mobelfabrik, Denmark in 1962. With newly upholstered black aniline leather seats. These chairs are dining room carvers that go with model 78 but can be used as armchairs, desk chairs or side chairs. The rosewood frames are solid Rosewood with no breaks and all joints being structurally sound. The rosewood has a lovely grain and patina adding to their beauty. They have been newly upholstered in black leather and the wood has been fully polished making them in showroom condition. They have Danish control labels on both underneath chairs and one has a Moller label underneath (one label missing)
More about Designer
Award winning Danish born Niels Moller had an early interest in furniture design which led him to complete a cabinetmakers apprenticeship in 1939 and he further consolidated his knowledge studying at the Århus School of Design. His lifelong passion ignited for furniture production and design, Niels founded his own company ‘J.L.Mollers Mobelfabrik’ in 1944 starting out in a modest workshop. In the 1960’s expansion to a bigger unit was required as exports to United States, Germany and Japan gained traction. The company to this day still exists now with his son at the helm. read more...
