The design is centred around a beautifully sculptural base formed from a pair of sweeping ebonised uprights, rising gracefully from four shaped splayed feet. At the centre sits a decorative cast gilt bronze reeded mount, providing a subtle contrast against the rich black finish and adding a distinctive architectural quality to the piece.

The console retains its original mirrored glass top, a desirable feature that enhances both its authenticity and period character. As expected with an original mirror of this age, there are some surface scratches and areas of foxing consistent with age and use. The mirror presents well and contributes greatly to the table's charm, though it can easily be replaced with a new mirrored top should a purchaser prefer a pristine appearance.
