A rare original T55 Desk designed by Xavier Pauchard for Tolix produced in France in the 1950’s, this example has green melamine top on black painted steel base with single drawer, the desk is in very good condition throughout with wear and age related marks Tolix used there metal working skills and created early mass market designs that appealed to people all over the world, lightweight and strong very well known for the cafe chairs that appear everywhere Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc later to set up his factory producing pressed sheet galvanized steel furniture.
