This fabulous French Art Deco tub chair was designed by Maurice Dufrene and is a magnificent example of his work. The chair has turned reeded feet, good strong leather and studded detail. The frame is solid and the overall condition is very good. The leather has been treated with conditioner and sealed. This is a rare and desirable piece that would make a wonderful addition to any collection especially in a Library whilst sitting reading a book.

More on the Designer
Born in Paris, Dufrêne became one of the worlds finest decorative artists using a variety of different material, including ceramics, metal and glass as well using top quality wood. He took an early interest in furniture making by finding off cuts of wood and other materials left over that he found in his fathers supply and made them into art pieces - this really ignited the artist in him.
Handsome sideboard bought in mid December, and delivered to Germany 10 days later (despite chaos at Dover). The sellers made this a neat straightforward transaction, and wrapped it, for the journey, with TLC.

I recently brought an Art Deco dressing table from the furniture rooms. The piece was exactly as described and Im very pleased with it. They were extremely easy to deal with, prompt with their replies, and the delivery arrived exactly when arranged. Very good service all round

We bought two club chairs from Toby and Katie. The chairs are great and good value, and they were very reliable and organised sellers. However the best thing was that - without being asked - they offered for us to check the condition of the chairs when they were delivered and to take them back if we were not happy. This was incredibly fair. In the end the chairs were exactly as described.
