Diplomat Sideboard by Finn Juhl 

A mid century rosewood sideboard part of the Diplomat range designed by Finn Juhl, produced by France and Son in Denmark in the mid 1960’s , the sideboard has two central drawers and two doors with adjustable shelves behind. The wood inlaid aluminium legs have adjustable feet and support the floating top. The handles are cast aluminium the sideboard has been partly re polished and does retain patina and the odd age related mark makers label to underneath floating top.

More about the designer

Finn Juhl was born in Frederiksberg, Denmark in 1912 and was steered initially into a career in architecture by his father. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Kay Fisker who was considered a leading architect at the time. Juhl excelled and was later awarded the C.F. Hansen prize for young architects. After working for several years at Vilhelm Lauritzen's architectural firm Juhl designed his own family home and left the company to set up his own design study focussing on his love for interiors and furniture design.....read on
