A substantial sized English chest of drawers circa 1870 in Satin Birch produced by Maple & Co. The top middle drawer is fully stamped Maple & Co. and all locks are stamped VR for Queen Victoria This chest is of rounded corner design, and gives a vast amount of storage space. Having eight drawers in total. The three lower drawers graduate in size, and are all deep, often Known as a Bonnet chest the central of the five drawers to the top feature a “Bonnet” or ‘Hat” drawer, flanked by four further small drawers. All drawers are constructed from solid mahogany The Chest is Great quality with lovely hand cut dovetail joints, l the chest has been restored where necessary with drawers sitting and running all correctly and has been fully polished retaining original patina and exceptional colour
