Sculpted by P Dubois in 1865, the music man was cast by Barbedienne Fondeur this example is 72 cm tall and cold painted with green legs and arm sleeves and great patina, the bronze has no damage or repairs all the strings of the Mandolin are in tact and original, The plaster model was exhibited at the Parisian Salon in 1865, and won the Honour Medal, The first bronze cast was purchased by Princess Mathilde.
