The Armchair - Whats best for the behind?
When it comes to deciding what gorgeous item I am going to focus on in this ‘dose’ of blog. I often look back to the varied conversations I’ve had with our customers………….. and ponder.
It has occurred to me that the comments made, are frequently in reflection to the contrast between the past and present. The way in which items used to be made, the quality of the woods and grade of the leathers used. The double/triple seamed trims and the intricately cut veneers.
That is not to say that all modernity be damned! But, yet to say…consider the durability and elegance of the past.
And in the case of selecting armchairs this must be especially so. It is so easy to fall prey of the large, multi position recliners (I have done so myself) only to repent at uncomfortable leisure! Whilst the aforementioned piece sags and fails to fit in any other room than that of a mansion!
We at the Furniture Rooms have a wonderful selection of comfortable seating that is ideal in proportion and yet still functionally fitting to solve this dilemna.
We try to cater for all desired styles and eras, from the retro 1970’s Danish leather lounge chairs with matching sofa, kitsch leather swivel armchairs and De-sede specials to the beautiful curves of the 1930’s French upholstered armchairs with wooden inlay, classic Chesterfield wingbacks and the G-plan with its simple lines.
