Date added: 13-06-2012 Iconic Roosewood
Whatever you think about vintage furniture, there can be no doubt as to the natural glow emanating from the glorious ‘rosewood’. It’s like a beacon of light to those that have handcrafted its grain. A material so versatile in use and yet delicately yielding to the creative talents of many a furniture-makers tools.
The realisation that as a medium it is in the league of the near extinct (the purchasing of slow growth Rio & Pallisander rosewood favored by high end furniture makers in banned), brings into play the fact that anything made from its bounteous beauty is an antique of the future and a rare breed in the making.
Sourcing pieces to use for restoration has become something of a sport to those who have had to play the game. As bidding wars often ensue to win the coveted prize.
But when all said and done, it is the talents of all those who merit its charm that we should seek as a way to conserve its future. Without their foresight in design, the pieces we see about us today would not exist.
So it is with thanks that we congratulate the talents of: Entre Mobler, Kofod larson, McIntosh, Nathan, Gordon Russell, Robert Heritage but, to name a few. We at thefurniturerooms stock many of these pieces. Morphing into the form of sideboards, table, chairs, consoles any many more incarnations. Just come and take a look to see what we cherish!
