Comb Back Windsor Chair c1780

Comb Back Windsor Chair c1780

Comb Back Windsor Chair c1780

Made in England in the later part of the 18th century, this Comb back Windsor chair has signs of the original paint which looks like it was stripped off a few years ago. Produced in Ash, Elm and fruitwood these chairs were originally painted to hide the mixed timber but I believe this adds to there primitive nature.

The chair is structurally sound, there are signs of old worm that has passed many moons ago. The chair has been waxed for protection and to draw on it's patination and colour
